THE CHARTRONS

Alice joined the Inwood team three years ago. Our Inwood Lover is a marketing project manager. In this article, she tells us about her favourite place in Bordeaux, the Chartrons district.

Alice recommends Les Chartrons, a trendy district and epicurean spot

If you don't know Bordeaux, you're probably wondering: what are the Chartrons? It's actually a trendy area of Bordeaux. It is located right next to the famous Place des Quinconces and borders the docks of the beautiful city. In Les Chartrons, as the Bordeaux people say, you will find bistros, restaurants, bars, but also art galleries, wine cellars... Les Chartrons is like a village in a city, where you like to eat and drink well. It is the epicurean district.

Alice discovered the Chartrons for the first time during a trip to our hotels in the South-West. She was immediately seduced by this charming and pleasant place. Our Inwood Lover describes her experience to us: "I was amazed by this typical Bordeaux district where life is good with its restaurants, art galleries, Haussmann-style buildings...”

"A temple of Epicureanism, a place that has everything to please!”

Alice recommends this district which she describes as: "a temple of Epicureanism, a place that has everything to please!”.  She is seduced by the atmosphere of the district which combines elegance and relaxation, “this "bobo" side brings an undeniable charm to this place that cannot be ignored".

Indeed, the district, often described as "bobo", is also known to have succumbed to local and organic consumption. Alice fell in love with the Origines Tea & Coffee grocery store created by inhabitants of Bordeaux, which offers organic teas, coffees and delicatessen. "I was also seduced by the bakery La P'tite Boulangerie Notre Dame located in the heart of the Chartrons where gluten-free organic breads are served, made right in front of your eyes".

Our Inwood Lover confides to us: "to enjoy this neighbourhood, do like me: take a walk, smell the good smells of home-made food, admire the works of the artists exhibited in the art galleries and enjoy a glass of Bordeaux wine surrounded by sublime Haussmann-style buildings...".

So, do like our Inwood Lover, don't hesitate any longer and discover this trendy and unmissable area of Bordeaux!
