A Career Driven by Passion and Commitment

At Burdigala, each team member has a unique story, shaped by growth, encounters, and a passion for people. Lucia is a great example of this. Having been part of the hotel for 20 years, she has grown through opportunities, moving from reception to human resources, while maintaining her strong sense of service and attachment to the teams.

Tell us about your background and your choice to work in hospitality

"I studied in Spain and obtained a degree in Tourism. During one of my internships, I had the opportunity to discover how a hotel operates. I particularly enjoyed the contact with guests and the dynamic nature of the job, which made me want to pursue this path.

I then moved to France to improve my French. I worked in entertainment in a 3-star establishment, where I held a very versatile role. This experience allowed me to discover all the hotel departments and develop a real overall understanding of the profession."

When did your journey at Burdigala begin?

"I joined Burdigala in 2006 as a receptionist. What made me want to work here was the image of the hotel, an iconic establishment in Bordeaux, as well as the quality of service offered.

I then progressed to the position of Head of Reception in 2018. In 2024, I felt the need for a change and wanted to explore a new field. After training and an immersion in human resources, I joined the HR department in January 2025."

What do you like most about Burdigala?

"The team members! You feel at home here. There is mutual support and a real family spirit."

In your daily role, what motivates you the most?

"I particularly appreciate being in contact with all departments, being able to act as a link and support the teams on a daily basis. I also enjoy welcoming new team members and working on payroll.

Moving from reception to human resources, I exchanged guests for team members, but the objective remains the same: to make sure everyone feels good in a caring environment, and that work is as pleasant as possible."
